Source partners with Gumdrop
Published on:It’s not often opportunities to work with a genuinely unique product come around. When you hear of a product that solves a problem and you ‘get it’ straight away, it’s rare.
But that’s what’s happened and we’re thrilled to announce Source has been selected as a Preferred Service Partner to Gumdrop, the revolutionary chewing gum recycling process.
Founded in 2015, Gumdrop has been embraced by many forward-thinking businesses – from universities to railways, airports to shopping centres, all of whom have the objective of minimising chewing gum waste on their sites.
The pink Gumdrop bins, made from recycled gum themselves, are placed strategically (and flexibly if required) around a site where high footfall means more gum being thrown on the ground. When the bins are full, they’re swapped out for new ones and shipped to a specialist waste processing plant where the GUM-TEC technology is created.
GUM-TEC is then used to create new products, either in part or wholly from the waste gum.
So where do we come in?
Source and Eden Hygiene have been brought in by Gumdrop to be their official service arm (Eden north, Source in the south). Searching for a reputable and trusted washroom services business, Gumdrop founder, Anna Bullus, felt that both Source and Eden were a perfect fit, aligning with Gumdrop brand values and service excellence. Anna wanted to utilise our industry knowledge and geographical reach to create a unique offering for her customers with a quarterly bin service for each location.
‘We’re excited to have partnered with Source and Eden to enable our growth plans to be realised and offer a service that compliments the product so well. I’m confident that both teams can deliver a great service for us and our customers!’
Source and Eden will integrate the Gumdrop installations and services into the washroom services routing. When the bin is collected from site by one of our team, it is carefully logged and weighed so that each location can be monitored and data collected. Dave and Ollie both are very pleased to be involved…
‘It’s a real coup to be involved with Gumdrop. The service can be added seamlessly into our businesses and we’re confident both Anna and her customers will see this as natural progression from the great work already in place.
The service arm will remove any dysfunctionality from the existing process, enabling more bins to be added into the system and therefore less gum on the ground, in urinals (blockages) or into general waste streams.
Ollie and I are always keeping our ear to the ground for sustainable initiatives and when we heard about Gumdrop it was your proverbial ‘no brainer’!’
