11th Annual Source Golf Day supporting O2e
Published on:

21 teams gathered at a scorching North Hants Golf Club for our 11th Annual Golf Day supporting children's charity O2e.
The course was in pristine condition after hosting The Open qualifying round last week and the contrast of lush tees, fairways and greens against the burnt grass made for a stunning spectacle.
Greens were lightening quick but rolled true and pin placements were fair. Approach shots held thanks to the expertise of the North Hants green keeping team and some low scores were posted.

One week after hosting The Open regional qualifying, the course was immaculate
Hosting a golf day always come with a risk of rain but it was the heat that threatened to impact the day. Landing in the middle of a heatwave, our players walked round in 30+ degrees but it didn't seem to affect the scoring.
With the support of Lissa and Graham of Pristine Washrooms (our commercial laundry partner), the halfway hut was sponsored ensuring everyone got all the fluids and sustenance needed to get round on the day.
With competitions on every par 3, two short par fours, a longest drive and a unique simulator competition, there was lots to play for. With a £50 voucher up for grabs for each prize, the competitions got serious.
A special mention to 3 players who showed incredible skill to claim prizes:
- James Rodwell (JEM Energy) - Nearest the Pin in 2. Drove green side on the 13th then chipped in for Eagle with a wedge
- Jordan Hurley (Soap2o) - Nearest the Pin in 2. Drove the green with a 3 wood and struck a 22ft putt into the hole for Eagle
- Jordan Hurley - Longest Drive. Ripped the big stick 369 yards on 18, a narrowing fairway. Wedge and one putt for birdie
- Richard Lewis (Lucart) - Simulator Par 3, 8th Royal Troon (Postage stamp). Knocked it to 4ft with his first swing of the day

Jordan, winner of two competitions, with his playing partners Nick and Tom from BioVate (and Ollie)
