As ever, the annual O2e cycle ride was a resounding success.
This year was the charities biggest turnout to date with 125 cyclists and 25 support crew. The route was fantastic, taking us from Marble Arch in London to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
300 miles were completed by an array of abilities which went a long way to underline the O2e ethos and title name – ordinary people doing extraordinary activities.
The organisation was absolutely fantastic with bike scanning at each checkpoint, luggage transportation, feed stations, GPS and roadside signage, hotel rooms reserved and return journey arranged. It is simply the most welcoming event for anyone looking to get out of their comfort zones and achieve something out of the ordinary.
We were privileged to be joined by a young man called Ieuan Coombes who has grown up with cerebral palsy but with the support of South Wales based charity, Sparkle Appeal. Sparkle Appeal are on of O2e’s nominated children’s charities so Ieuan was excited to be a part of the O2e group and provide inspiration whilst showing his appreciation for everyone’s efforts too.
He was also joined by his mate, Jamie Roberts, who met us all at the Arc de Triomphe and then joined us the next day for our chartered boat party down the Seine. He donated a pair of boots from the Lions Tour that fetched a staggering four figures in an impromptu live auction on the boat.
All in all, another fantastic event organised by one of the founding members of O2e, Kev Tuohy. Source Supplies are only too proud to be affiliated with O2e and welcome all of our contacts to get involved at any level.
